1 Corinthians 1:26-30

v30 "But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God - and righteousness and sanctification and redemption-"

First things first!

It is of God's doing that we are in Christ. It is of God that we are where we are right now.

So what is Jesus to us?

1. Jesus is our wisdom.

James 1:5 If anyone lacks wisdom let him ask of God who gives liberally.

Colossians 2:3 "In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom".

Whenever you get into a situation: stop, speak, believe, and then move forward.

2. Jesus is our righteousness

Whenever you feel guilty, depressed, down, we remember that "It is nothing to do with you." He is your everything.

We say "Thank Jesus you are my righteousness, my standing before God is secure because of You."

3. Jesus is our sanctification

Greek word is Hagiasmos (hag ee as mos)
Most commonly translated as holiness. Literally means the state we find ourselves in.

You can't get victory over temptation by yourself. Adam couldn't, and he walked completely with God. You may be able to say no to temptation for a small period of time, but your will is no match for sin.

Say "Yes" to Jesus.

"Jesus I thank you that you are my holiness, my sanctification."

You then turn every temptation into an opportunity to praise.

Your faith is not in your feelings or your ability. Your faith can't be in something that can't withstand the power of sin. Your faith is not in your feelings or senses of righteousness. They are very shaky grounds.

Matthew 7:24-27 building upon the rock.

What gives us the security is the fact that Jesus is ever living to make intercession for us before the throne of God. Hebrew 7:25

The measure of our righteousness is Jesus in the heavenlies.

4. Jesus is our redemption

Redemption is being brought out of the realm of sin's curse. Galatians 3:13

Your part - His part

Hebrews 13:20-21

His part:
  Make us complete

Equip us to do His will

  He is working in you

Your part:
To give Him the glory forever and ever and ever.

Today let's remember what He is for us and remember we are secure in that because of where He is today.
